USPSA Matches
MSC has an active IPSC/USPSA shooting group. MSC is fortunate to have a crew of several RO’s, CRO’s, and a RM; as well as many volunteers, to organize, setup, and work the matches. MSC has one match per month that includes an USPSA classifer stage and every Monday an USPSA practice match.
To shoot at either the Sunday or Monday match, you will need the following:
• Recognized pistol by USPSA - see the USPSA website for more details.
• Holster which covers the trigger
• 4 magazines
• Magazine pouches
• A good belt
• Eye protection
• Ear protection
• Minimum of 72 rounds for a Monday match and usually 120 for Sundays.
It is always best to double the amount of ammo in case a reshoot is required.
Don’t worry if you haven’t shot a IPSC/USPSA match before, everyone is helpful in getting you ready and explaining the basic rules to you. The first rule above all else is SAFETY! Check out the USPSA site. They have some nice information an what is needed to get started. You can also download a copy of the official rule book, the more you know the more fun the shoot can be. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask one of the official or one of the other competitors. There are no silly questions.
